Reiki Healing

Reiki (pronounced ‘ray’-‘key’) is a safe and simple form of natural ‘hands on’ healing. Reiki is a Japanese word – Rei meaning Universal and Ki meaning life force or energy. This energy flows through all matter and can be ‘tapped into’ by a Reiki practitioner to give powerful healing. Reiki is not a religion or faith system and does not require any particular belief on the part of the receiver. All that is needed is the willingness to heal and be healed.

Illness can be understood as an imbalance in a person’s subtle energy or Life force. These imbalances can have different causes (for example emotional, mental, physical and spiritual). Because Reiki works to bring about balance in each person’s subtle energy, it is able to reach the causes as well as the physical symptoms of any particular problem.

The therapist channels Reiki through the hands into the receiver’s body – triggering, enhancing and promoting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. The treatment usually lasts for about an hour and follows a format agreed with you before beginning. You remain fully clothed during treatment (comfortable clothing made from natural fibres work best).
